  • Happy New Year!

It’s been mostly radio silence from us lately as you may well have noticed – there’s a reason for that though. Well, actually there’s two reasons.

Firstly we’ve been beavering away at something and secondly it was December.

Now to you December is Christmas parties, family time, and then New Year. For us it’s a time when posting orders on the same day is no guarantee of them arriving any time soon and don’t even talk to us about ordering in stock…

But now that’s over and normal service can be resumed at long last. Any day now we should have a big pile of resin to show you. Exciting!

  • Having a go at painting with inks

After seeing this post on Reddit I got the urge to try out painting with inks. I had a quick look on YouTube for a tutorial and found this one.

Sanity Lost and I had a bash at it with mixed results:

(sorry about the blurriness of this one)

Also, yes, Angus is wearing a kilt. She requested one so I did my best to sculpt one. I’ve never sculpted bare Ork/Orc legs before so I figured it was worth a shot!

  • A few Necromunda things

As some of you might remember from me yammering on about it on the Chaos of the Warp podcast, I’m playing Necromunda at the moment with a few friends. The final game is coming up and it’s going to be based on Storming The Barricades. I’m going to be defending and so have invested some credits in some defences. Models would of course be required to represent my choices.

    So I threw some together:

    Firstly the five traps:

Pistolton’s mantrap. Suggested by Sanity Lost I sculpted a little mantrap (ostensibly belonging to a throwaway character in the radio comedy Bleak Expectations).

Painted. Sadly my painting really is not all that good Sad smile

    Another suggestion:

I’ve never held a banana skin in my life, can’t stand the fruit, but I did my best at sculpting one!

Based on a little trap from Indiana Jones:

    Thinking of Fallout 3:

I wanted another obvious one so a chalked X seemed sensible. You should totally stand there. No, really, it’ll be fine. Trust me!

I also needed an emplaced Heavy Stubber so a spare M60 from the last campaign got strapped onto some spare resin:

Lastly, my favourite: Larry the millisaur. He was going to have a collar but I could think how to attach one to him.

I’ve never tried sculpting anything like this before, let alone painting, but I figured I’d give it a shot. I’m quite pleased with him, given how little time he took.

  • Mic check 1, 2..?

Those of you who listen to Chaos of the Warp will already know this but I was their guest in the last episode (#27 – Let Terrain Fall Down).

Geoff and Rich are nice guys and I had a lot of fun. I know I love a good forum and apparently so do they as they’ve just set one up over on FreeForums.net if that’s your sort of thing:

  • redkommando’s worldwide 40K campaign

Lt.Soundwave has been in touch to enlist our help in spreading the word of something awesome.

Over on DakkaDakka there’s a worldwide Warhammer 40,000 campaign being put together:

Myself and a team of Dakka Members, are currently writing up Fluff and Mechanics for a World Wide Campaign.
Basically you (as a Warhammer Player), play games of 40k, and give your results into your "Warzone Commander" and they will pass them on in an organised fashion, to the Organisers.

This Campaign will revolve around a Sub-Sector in the very North-Western edge of the Segmentum Solar, there are 24 Planets divided into 4 Systems for the forces of Order and Destruction to fight over, each planet has an Imperial Control Rating (0-100%) and that shows who controls said planet, Disorder victories lowers the value, whilst Order increases the value. Each Planet is also worth Campaign Points, which ever side has the most Points at the end of 8 weeks "wins", but there will be a fluff result too.
Your every battle will change the fate of the Sub-Sector: Saved? Destroyed in Fire and Blood? Eaten and Digested? Enslaved?

And at the end of each week I will write up a fluff piece from the Imperial view point,
A Campaign Pack will become available soon. . . .

    Interested?
